Print Design Process

Great print design starts before a single line is drawn: with attention to your brand + the details that make it considered.

At King Creative Design, we bring that same attention, intention, and nuance to every piece of collateral we create, whether it’s a single business card or a full marketing package. Here’s how we get there.

When we design print and collateral pieces, we follow the steps outlined below to make sure every piece works as hard as it looks good.

DESIGN BRIEF: We start with a conversation — what the piece needs to do, who it’s speaking to, and how it fits into your broader brand. If you already have brand guidelines or existing collateral, we’ll use those as our starting point.

CONTENT & SPECS GATHERING: We collect your content, copy, and any print specifications (size, quantity, printer requirements) up front, so there are no surprises once design begins.

CONCEPTUALIZING: With intention, we develop initial layout concepts rooted in your brand’s established look and feel — building on what’s already working, not starting from scratch each time.

REFINING COMPS: We take another pass to sharpen the details — spacing, hierarchy, color, type — the nuance that separates a good layout from a great one.

PRESENTATION: We present your concepts for review, along with any notes on print considerations (paper stock, finish, bleed) relevant to the piece.

REVISIONS: Once you’ve chosen a direction, we refine it until every detail is right.

PRINT-READY FILES: We prepare final, print-ready files to your printer’s specifications — or handle the print production for you, start to finish.

TURNAROUND TIME: Most single-piece print projects (business cards, letterhead, one-sheets) are ready for your review within 3–5 business days of your design brief. Larger collateral packages will vary based on scope — we’ll give you a clear timeline once we understand your project.
